Play is an important vehicle for developing self-regulation and promoting language, cognition, and social competence. It also supports the foundational skills important to literacy such as memory, self-regulatory, and oral language using developmentally appropriate practice in supporting the 10 Literacy Essentials in the classroom. This 4-part series will help participants to understand how the 10 essentials are linked and how they can be easily implemented throughout the classroom and daily schedule.
