The Michigan Model for Health is an evidence-based, PreK-12 health education curriculum, which helps schools meet the requirement of teaching health education. Units or strands for the skills-based curriculum include Social Emotional Health, Nutrition and Physical Activity, Personal Health and Wellness, Safety, Alcohol/Tobacco/Other Drugs. HIV/STI Prevention curricula for middle school and high school are separate and require separate training (listed below). All MMH curricula align with Michigan Health Education Standards. Participants will receive an overview of skills-based instruction, the whole child model, the adapted health belief model, and explore grade level lessons. Upon completion, teachers will receive access to grade level curriculum through a digital platform and on-going technical assistance and support. As noted below, some trainings are a hybrid of required online pre-work (1.5-2 hours) and in person training (2-3 hours).
