MERA has decided to spend most of their Spring 2021 conference on a topic that we can all relate to---COVID-19. Educationally, learning and development have been interrupted and disrupted for millions of students. Data has been reshaped causing great uncertainty which has become particularly challenging to public education both academically and emotionally/socially. The COVID impact on teaching and learning is expected to exacerbate student achievement gaps and learning loss---especially for disadvantaged students. There is serious concern regarding the mark it is leaving on youth mental health as well. Implications will be shared during the conference day; updates of interest will be provided; dialogue will take place during the various sessions and suggestions will be offered from our diverse panel of presenters leaving participants with a set of next steps to consider moving forward.
